PELE, the Hawaiian Volcano Goddess. From deep in her home in Kilauea and the volcanic network of Hawaii, Pele represents the dual natures of creation and destruction, and marks her as the most renowned of the Hawaiian Akua (Gods). “Pele’s Hair” is created when high winds whip the molten lava into wispy threads of glass.
